THE END RESULT:
Some girls will end up on the bathroom floor, passed out from excessive drinking, with friends too drunk to even help. Her wig might just come off too, please put it in her bag, it was probably expensive.
Before you leave the party, just have a look at the “back” of the party. By the “back”, I mean that wall that is behind the party. You’ll think they are couples who have been aching to have each other, tragically, that is not the case. Those people might never meet again.
Some guys will be too drunk to even realize where they are, guys LEAVE each other, lol. They might even sleep on the lawns of the dance floor, until security chases them out.
Then there will be that friendship group, could be girls only, guys only or a little bit of both, FIGHTING, because of some drama that occurred during the night. These fights will cause tension for the next two weeks in the group, but they will get over it.
Some people would have had too much to drink at the pre-drinks, so by the time they get to the party they would be at the verge of throwing up everything they ate that day. The night just ends with them being dragged by their friends whilst battling with the stench of vomit in their mouth and burdened by the overwhelming urge to sleep.
Then there will be that one girl friend who is a sexual drunk, who does not want to let go of the random ugly guy she was trapped by, all she wants to do is make out with him, but her friends want to leave. H for HECTIC. If she does not have friends, please rescue her, bad things might happen.
Unfortunately, some things happen behind the scenes, with girls falling prey to rapists, especially at res parties hosted by all male residences. I always pray that they can at least come to their senses and escape before anything happens.
Then there are those people who just came to have fun, minimal drinkers who leave the party with a fully functioning liver and maybe a strained thigh from dancing, but nonetheless enjoyed their night to the best of their ability.
I obviously could not add all the scenarios, otherwise I’d be writing a thousand page essay about res parties, but I thought I would share some of the things I’ve noticed and thought about a little bit more than I really should.
It doesn’t matter where you fit in in those categories I mentioned, that’s if you even fit in at all. I just feel that before one leaves varsity, they should definitely get at least two experiences of going to a res party or at least a fresher’s party. You wouldn’t be a qualified varsity student if you didn’t go, even if you obtain your degree cum laude. (Please don't take that last statement too seriously though)
